Regina Hoffman, Ph.D. Senior Consultant
Executive Coaching Division of Valerie Frederickson &
Company provides advice to co-workers whose work group is
being upset by the “Boss’ Pet.
“Get together, identify the
unacceptable behavior, and come up with a common response
that everyone will use,'' said Hoffman, a senior consultant
with Valerie Frederickson & Co. in Menlo Park. “It
could be something along the lines of, ‘When I'm asked
to do work in that tone of voice, it goes to the bottom of
my to-do pile. What I need is to be asked in a tone of respect
and courtesy.’
